I can only speak for my daughter but it is NOWHERE near the same ...
Not being in the school and eating lunch and hanging out before/after school and between classes is a big deal socially. She normally does church youth group - that is now 100% virtual. She can't go with her friends to movies without wearing a mask and sitting two seats apart. She can't go to birthday parties and there are very few sleepover type things that teenagers always do. She pretty much gets together occasionally with one or two girls and everything else is done over a laptop or the phone - that is no way to group up IMHO.
And, if you are correct that they are still getting together, then why not go to school, especially now that the teachers/administrators are getting vaccinated?
Not busting on you BW ... just very frustrated with it.
