But in this particular case, we have a long-time Hokie fan who has a wonderful daughter who landed a UVA softball scholarship. That's one heck of an accomplishment. He's a great guy and she attended my high school, so I'm pulling for her - except when she plays against the Hokies.

Until last season, UVA softball played in an absolute dump in a part of town that wasn't particularly safe. It was an embarrassment and it's a wonder they signed any quality players at all. But now they have a modern facility that is simply beautiful. Recent recruiting has already shown that it is making a difference for them.

Although I have ZERO love for anything Wahoo, I am also realistic. I am fairly certain that they will become much more competitive in softball in the future than they have been in the past.

Is Hardin as bad as her record? Or has she simply had the cards stacked against her? I have no idea. I don't know if anyone could have won with the resources she had.

I just want the Hokies to continue their recent success against them - and it would also be nice to continue their scoreless streak against us.
