Tech upset oklahoma state, which was one of the couple elite squads at that time, and then followed that up with beating Wisconsin. Fell in the finals but I feel like that run really put VT wrestling on the national map and potentially was the start of the ACCs progression over that next decade to a one of the top wrestling conferences
