True On All Levels
Somewhat similar to Mike Young taking over a program with a solid foundation, but Sergio comes in with much more name recognition than Mike Young. It’s unfortunate how Whit handled that situation, among some other ones, like Dresser and wrestling. With that being said, the changes have brought long-term success in both sports, and the rest is history now.
Skinner’s staff left the program with a lot of young talent on the roster to build around. The key now will be holding the consistency. VT, as a university, is notoriously difficult with finding other non-athletic sources of scholarship funding, and that makes roster management incredibly difficult in sports like swimming and baseball.
