Some key stats from the game...

The result vs. Miami is what I would expect with Sheppard limited to only 12 minutes due to injury. She’s the #2 scorer in ACC and played only 12 minutes vs her season average of 34 minutes.

I wasn’t able to listen to the game, but looks like VT played pretty well without her, considering:
VT shot 46.2% from the field vs season avg of 43.2%.
VT shot 84.2% on free throws vs 74.1% for the season (VT was fifth best in ACC for the season).
VT committed 9 turnovers, compared to 14.7 average for the season.
VT averages ten 3-pointers per game and made 8 today with Sheppard limited.
VT missed Sheppard’s avg scoring of 19.4 points per game (7 points today).

VT had people playing some long minutes and that may be a factor in the next game, especially if down to ~6 players. Kitley and Amoore didn’t come out of the game. King played 38 minutes and finished with four fouls:
Kitley played 40 minutes tonight vs. her avg of 35 minutes
Amoore played 40 vs her avg of 30
King played 38 vs. avg of 30
Sheppard played 12 minutes vs avg of 34.

VT shot better in this game than in all but three of its ACC contests this season. So they shot pretty well and limited the turnovers. They found a way while missing Sheppard for 70% of the game’s minutes.

Go Hokies.
