NCAA XC championships moved from fall to this March (next week) -

This helped VT as some schools (ND, Wake, NCSt and others) had distance runners focused on XC. Not saying VT men would not have still won, but the margin would likely not have been as much. FSU didn't seem at full strength either this year - they seemed a bit off. Overall team strength goes in cycles, and avoiding the injury bug is a big factor.
