I've seen this once

In a Dixie World Series (14&U) I played in around 2003. We represented Virginia and watched a game featuring Texas and someone else (can't remember). Texas broke two bats. Turns out, they were freezing their bats. I guess Blacksburg does get that cold in the early spring!
