3-0 is the new 2-0....

Was too busy yesterday to catch the game. Presume we were down when this occurred..... but have absolutely seen a trend in baseball over last couple years for guys with plus power to attack the 3-0 fastball. This has historically been a pitch that is taken damn near 100% of the time. It may be the only time that a hitter truly has an advantage - pitchers don’t want to give up bases in balls so they fire that 3-0 fastball straight down Broadway without a care in the world. I’m a baseball traditionalist too. In trailing late game scenarios, I’m used to coaching players to “take until you have a strike” .....but more and more, I’m seeing hitters sitting dead red on 3-0......especially with runners on
