The biggest downside of getting down 4-1 was his opponent going passive.

Latona could have pushed for bonus points but because he got down big so early his opponent spent the rest of the match trying to stall things out and keep it close. If Latona doesnt give up points early he just pushes the pace and at least gets a MD.
