Since we disagree a lot I am going to post on pro football, which I never
do, just to say I agree this has a "smell" to it.
Do I believe that lots of the top level athletes are just like the politiians with "A rule for you but not for me"?, Yes I do. Whether it is Watson or Winston or Brady any number of others, they are protected to a point against various forms of "indescretions" just like some big name pols.
But, the reason is the really big money they help generate. Watson seems to have stepped out of the lane assigned and allowed for him by those making the reallly big money.
They can and will throw him away if he damages their $$$$$. If they do, suddenly his individual value drops to almost nothing because the really big money isn't dependent upon any one or even a handful of individuals any more than Bma was dependeent upon Tua. Their money and promotion will find and make the next Watson while he fades away.
