A couple of stadium notes
Louisville’s stadium looks like a postcard- absolutely beautiful.
They got a resurfaced infield as well as new stadium lights installed prior to the start of the 2020 season. “The upgraded lights are equipped with special flashing effects that will provide a unique experience to UofL Softball that will separate the program from most Division I teams.” That should be interesting although I hope we don’t see it in action.
“The University of Louisville partnered with ANC Sports for the installation of a new LED video board which was unveiled in 2015. The all-digital surface includes a high-definition board which measures 28-feet wide and 17-feet tall. The video board also supports in-game replays, statistical information, graphics and animation features."
"The installation of the video board came on the heels of a $3.5 million expansion project which was completed in 2014. The expansion featured an upper deck terrace with elevator access and additional seating to accommodate up to 1,000 people within the stadium, increasing the facility’s capacity to approximately 2,500."
The two biggest crowds were for NCAA regionals in 2012 when they had 3,124 in attendance.
Here’s the view from the terrace outside the outfield.
