Outside of basketball...
some people are wired for rural and some for urban. I grew up in the DC area and my dad got his master's degree from GWU. I grew up going to a few games there in the 70's and early 80's. I actually applied there and was accepted into the Political Science- Intl Affairs program. I chose Forestry and Tech because I wanted that experience instead (and not live at home and commute).
Funny thing- I now work for the State Department in Foreign Affairs and when I am back in the DC area...I walk thru the GWU campus when I ride the metro in. I ended up making the choice that was right for me. He thinks he is for him.
There is more than one way to get you where you want to go. There are players in the NBA who didn't go to ACC or other power schools. There are players in the NFL the same way. If he isn't going to get on the floor with Tech why wouldn't he pick a place he feels comfortable and has a chance to be seen?
Why should we care? He decided Tech isn't the place he wants to be. Wish him well and move on. I am still excited about who we have.
