5-10 years (I don't mean that as a dig) but the game has really changed. My son has been on the AAU circuit and the on ball contact is encouraged and allowed. It was a culture shock for him back in 4th grade. Now as a high schooler - nothing to it - hack or be hacked, bump and get bumped.

Even at the high school level, refs seem to let much more stuff go on. You could argue GU was dirty with the hip checks on the high ball screens they set. Numerous times I saw BU defenders fighting over the top of the screen only to take a hip check from one of GU's goons.

It goes both ways. GU had a huge edge at the foul line. I thought they were fortunate to get the benefit of many calls. Best team won straight up and nothing dirty at all - physical.
