I think it is better here - never gets cold, and never gets too hot. You might want to check out Sombrero Beach on a lazy day - very pretty place with lots of parking, showers, bathrooms, kids playgrounds, pic-nic tables, and a white sand beach. 2 miles toward ocean @ MM50 down Sombrero Beach Rd. And you may want to head over the 7 mile bridge and hit Bahia Honda. There is an entrance fee, but it is world famous and historical. You can see the old 7 mile bridge on the trip, and view the old iron bridge crossing while at Bahia Honda. Key West is only an hour - you really ought to go there, too. I can give lots of tips, if you want about lots of things and places to see.
