Basketball Transfer portal article


In today’s Wall Street Journal they discuss transfer portal data. I can’t link since it’s a pay site.

But here’s the data:
About 600 men’s players switched schools last year.
Currently there are 1,296 men in the portal representing more than 28% of D1 scholarship players.

On the women’s side there are 863 in the portal representing one in every six D1 players.

There are 1,400 football players in the portal.

Ncaa expected to address immediate eligibility rule later this month. Several conferences have already enacted similar rules.
