Waaay back in middle school, I held the school record for pull ups

My parents had a gym membership and drug me to the gym with them. I was probably the only kid at that middle school who actually lifted weights, so I was pretty darned strong for my age/size.

IIRC, I did 23 pull ups. About half the boys couldn't do 1, a few of the more athletic ones managed five or six.

Then about ten minutes after I set the record, a tiny kid who also wrestled broke my record. He was darned strong for his age/size too from wrestling, but had the added benefit of short arms and almost no body weight.

So much for my fortune and fame.
