Not really “Odd” at all. If you study or have played the game of fastpitch you would realize that hitting a ball traveling the equivalent of 85-90 mph is the toughest task of any female college athlete IMHO. Past efforts by pitchers throwing ‘ the game of their lives’ put any player in a pressing situation of “ guess hitting” or taking called third strikes. This coupled with a great pitcher throwing her ‘ B’ game results in a loss, not odd at all. Winning 3 out of 4 or 2 out of 3 in a series strikes fear in those we will confront in post season play. ( regionals and supers ) Trust me, coaches don’t give a rats rear about conf tourneys, they prefer they not be played at all, unless you are on the bubble. Once again, we hit like we should, and Keely pitches like she should, we beat anybody, other teams know that, and that makes us the “ wild card” to make the WCWS.
