Fuente is pretty protective of his players.

And a depth chart gives fans the opportunity to criticize players who are not first string and perhaps have not developed yet, or might have other things going on in their lives that are preventing optimum performance.

This isn't just a Justin Fuente thing. I remember years ago that beamerball.com published a spreadsheet of everyone's strength and conditioning results, and while it was great information, many fans used it to, for example, ridicule Jon Dunn for only benching 275 lb.
