I'll be glad to offer any lessons learned/advice that I can.


I can post some photos of my method when you're ready. It might be slightly different in your case - I actually left the existing posts in place, but I cut them off above where the rot stopped. Then I poured the concrete "foundation" right up underneath them (leaving enough space for a 2x6 sill plate). I'm guessing you will need to replace the posts altogether, which may be a little trickier depending on how your deck is built.

Lumber prices are definitely insane right now. I keep thinking at some point demand is going to react and they will normalize some, but that does not seem to have happened yet.
