I agree with you with respect to Dogecoin. That really isn't "crypto".

And anyone that doesn't understand that really hasn't looked into anything about the space at all. Personally, I really hope Doge just goes away. It is a blemish, as far as I'm concerned.

I remember when I was ranting about Amazon. "They sell books! They don't even have any buildings!"

I'm a bit more open minded now. I'm naturally inclined to cling to the past, to resist change, to hope history repeats itself to validate my beliefs. But I have found that over-reliance on the tried and true can change from lifeline to anchor. Technology is blowing things up exponentially. Almost anything in the past is irrelevant.

"Kick the can down he road".

The older you are, the more that phrase strikes a fearful nerve. I really don't think anyone honestly thinks that the monetary policy that has been going on for decades is really working out, or is going to end well. Most just hope the ride won't end in their lifetimes, and say a prayer for their progeny. Crypto, among many, many other things, is forming a parallel decentralized monetary system - one that cannot be manipulated by politicians that decide "there is an endless supply of dollars", for example. That is the part that attracts me - but there is much more to it. Different coins are attempting to increase technology in speed, security, confidentiality, etc. to improve the way all of the transactions in life are processed. I may come off as a cab driver, but I have enough sense to know this isn't Holland tulips part 2. This is an explosion of technology.

I would examine what Technocrat is posting. He is doing a lot of legwork for anyone with genuine interest - and I think it would be wise to learn as much as you can, and not just condemn it out of hand.
