Clemson won 12 games against UNC, UVA, and BC

the bottom of the ACC and teams VT didn't get to feast on

Clemson - VT won series 2-1
FSU - VT won series 2-1, Clemson didn't play
Duke - VT won series 3-1, Clemson split 2-2
VT
ND - VT lost series 0-4, Clemson didn't play
L'ville - won series 3-1, Clemson won series 4-0
NCSU - VT won series 3-1, Clemson won series 4-0
Cuse - VT won series 4-0, Clemson won series 3-1
GT - VT won series 3-1. Clemson won series 3-0
UNC - VT didn't play, Clemson won series 4-0
Pitt - VT won series 3-1, Clemson didn't play
UVA - VT didn't play, Clemson won series 4-0
BC - VT didn't play, Clemson won series 4-0

Clemson picked up an extra win against L'ville and NCSU while VT did against Cuse. It's really those series that Clemson played against UNC/UVA/BC where VT only got Pitt out of the bottom 4 that make a big difference. Trade 2 of those series for them with series against ND and FSU, and I'd bet big they are no longer in first.

Regardless, congrats to them on a great first year.
