The kid was in 3rd Recruit Training Battalion...


as was I back in the day. Their color is blue. So I wore blue.

Also, I had the pleasure of doing a tour of duty on the USS Okinawa back in the '80s. It was great being taken around as such a young kid to places I'd never get to see on my own. Grateful to have made it through my enlistment relatively unharmed. I think of all this great men who didn't get to make it back from their respective tours in all of our wars. My heart remembers with them today as always.
