She acknowledged the victim and his family, and "all" members of the community that have been impacted. There isn't much else she can do or say. I get why this board is the way it is right now. If this were an episode of Dateline NBC, I would say many consider themselves in a way a friend or acquaintance of the accused because we love the program, so while it looks awful based on what was reported, and the kid is pretty much going to do prison time, I guess I too am hoping that there are some mitigating circumstances for him. But in a court of law I don't really think it matters that he was deceived. He could have walked away. He really only has a case if its self defense, and the evidence would need to support that. Wounded pride or fear of reputation, or even just being grossed out are not an excuse to kill someone. Stating the obvious here but this kid is in big trouble.
