...moved here in 2006. Finally made it to a VT-GT game in 2019. Was fun seeing the 45-0 beat down. We bought our tix from the GT ticket office. Was easy and inexpensive. Had upper level seats, about a 1/3 of the way up, almost exactly on the 50 yard line, it gave us a great view and we also ended up surrounded by mostly Hokies and some decent GT fans around us.

GT usually doesn't have a lot of sell out games. Their the redheaded step child of the state of Georgia in terms of football. I'd say especially for VT vs. GT these days, it's not a locally compelling game for most of the local population, affordable tickets are going to be available via the GT ticket office in good spots in the stadium.

Parking downtown sucks. I'd advise to either uber in, or take MARTA. We actually met up with friends before the game, they dropped us off at the stadium, then we MARTA'd to Doraville (we live OTP up I-85) and uber'd from there to get home.

If you haven't been to the Varsity, make a pit stop there on the way home after the game. It (and the body's physiological response on the toilet afterwards) are an Atlanta rite of passage.
