Fair winds, Sailor.

Your dad had a lot of experiences with the careers he had. Saw a lot of things of this world and did a lot of good for this country serving how he did. Thank you for sharing him with Our Country and your stories with us.

Had a similar thing happen with my dad. He worked with FBI for a few years. Wasn't an agent, but was able to get a service revolver from their stores for personal use. We always called it his "service weapon". Colt .38 CTG, absolutely beautiful revolver. After he passed, it got outside the family for a bit, but was able to track it down and get it back into the family. Can't tell you what a gut wrenching experience that was, but we took care of it. Things like that need to stay in the family and be passed on in memory of our fathers.
