Both are used for the same tasks


Except the twist lock plug you pictured is typically for a "critical" load, like an oxygen tank or something. Maybe even a TV for the entertainment addicted crowd.

Both are 15A 120V devices, so they both could be wired on the same circuit, although that would seem to defeat the purpose of the critical load twist lock in the first place.
