She was just named the 2021 Girls Athlete of the Year by the Beaver County Times. These quotes and stats are from their story, which talks about the awesome year she had in volleyball, basketball and softball.

She "used her (6 foot) height and raw athleticism (in the fall) to help the Beaver volleyball team to a perfect 12-0 regular season record and a Section 4-3A title," before losing in the semifinals.

"Just months after falling short of gold in volleyball, List played a significant role in helping the Beaver girls basketball team win the first WPIAL championship in school history,..averaging 14.3 points per game."

The article quoted her basketball coach as saying "She can do a little bit of everything defensively...sometimes we play her in the middle of our zone while other times we put her out on the three-point line because she was so good at stopping shots. Her length, athletic ability and size makes her so tough on both ends of the court."

Then comes softball, where she led her team to an undefeated year and a state title. "In Beaver's 21 victories, List went 19-0 in the circle, striking out 233 batters in 120 innings pitched while positing a 0.64 ERA. List was also the Bobcats' top threat at the plate, hitting .409 with five home runs and 23 RBIs."

So, if you put it all together, Payton "ended her junior year with three section titles, two WPIAL gold medals, a state championship and a plethora of accolades."

I would say she had a pretty good year.

It should be interesting to see what her senior year brings.
