When they had that 75th anniversary of the end of WWII


they had a flyover of planes in DC in chronological order starting with a few biplanes Stearman"s (?) I think. I parked my car at one of the lots along the C&O canal and got to see them all.

The P40s were the first one's that really started to move and of course the P51s were crazy fast - relative to what I had seen - Even the B29s moved pretty well, just interesting to see visually in about an hour what you were describing.

I think I read somewhere where the Lockheed Constellations were faster than every fighter plane in WWII.
