Not Chip, but much has changed with softball recruiting the last few years.

Now, can not offer a kid before sept 1 of Junior year. Communication is limited now (Ha, Ha). Colleges coaches can only have general conversations while on campus until the Sept 1 date. Conversation are not suppose to be recruiting related. Recruits can still email and text coaches about schedules and performance on the field and in the classrooms. They can share videos and invite coaches to games.

That is the way it is suppose to work, but there are still behind the scenes conversations with college and travel coaches. I hear about messages being relayed by travel coaches all the time.

Big change is no offers can go out until Sept 1 of junior year. On that day, you find out all the schools that are serious about recruiting you. Usually get emails at midnight.
