Sure is nice to see ACC rivals in awe of our softball program


I was scanning one of the UNC fan sites and saw this post that was made during the Super Regionals:

"Virginia Tech is no joke. UCLA is experienced with a world class pitcher and (VT) is not scared at all. Aggressive at the plate with a stud pitcher."

Speaking of UNC, their best player, Kristina Burkhardt, two-time All-ACC honoree and their offensive leader (.333 batting average, .550 slugging percentage, 174 career starts) has transferred to Michigan.

Their leading pitcher, Brittany Pickett (121, career starts, 2.35 career ERA) has used up her eligibility.

Donna J. Papa, their head coach, has been at UNC 35 years, but they were14-26 last year (10-20 in the ACC). The natives are getting restless.
