Oh God.... I had put that out of my mind until you just brought it up.

It didn't bother me as much because I saw it as VT being the worst 7-4 'major program' (top 6 conferences) in the country vs. the best team left out of the bowl alliance. UNC was better than they have ever been that year and ended up playing a 7-4 team. They were pissed.
