I don't buy that argument.


ESPN has no reason to prefer one one conference over another except for the money they can make off of them .. and that's market driven. If the ACC could perform at the same level as the SEC then just as many eyes would want to see the ACC and the treatment would be the same. But the ACC has never been able to do that except for one team at a time... Clemson recently, FSU under Bobby, Miami before they were ACC, etc.

Consistently match them on the field and the treatment would be the same. That's not likely to happen because the ACC doesn't have the football passion of the SEC. This is where a lot of you will throw in the money factor. But money is only a necessary condition and not a sufficient condition for matching the success of the SEC. If it was a sufficient condition, the Big10, Pac12, and Big12 would be right there with them and they're not.
