Today I fixed our basement big freezer. Temp raised from -8 to 44 last week. Had to pitch 5 large bags of meat, chicken, venison, and assorted crap.
Condisate drain plugged and an GOT ice wall built up behind the interior cover wall which blocked air circulation through the cold coils.
Drilled holes in the 5 inch thick ice dam and broke out the chunks.
Cleaned it out, plugged it in, 30 min later below zero.
Whew. Avoided the dreaded small appliance repair dude telling me it was “the circuit board.”
