Excellent away support from Hokies fans -- considering no one on the team who plays is from anywhere close to Columbia, it was great to see how many VT parents/fans were in attendance.

Moments of magic in the first half -- Emily Gray is a fantastic two-footed player, and her left delivered a perfect ball to a sliding Nicole Kozlova for the only goal. Alia Skinner made a MASSIVE point-blank save to keep the lead in the first half, and then wasn't tested in the second. Her aerial command is something to behold -- any cross into the box is hers.

Also want to give a shoutout to two true freshmen -- Allie Lewis is as rock-solid as they come at the back. Her positioning is impeccable and makes up for a lack of pace. Lauren Gogal made only her second start this year in a holding midfield role and really played well, particularly in the first half. Strong tackling and broke up attacks, kept things simple and moved the ball on with short passes to VT's more creative outlets.
