I was born the day Freedom 7 launched (it was also the week of the 50th

Anniversary of Naval Aviation). They portrayed Shepard dealing with and hiding his inner ear issues in the Disney+ series Right Stuff.

BTW - I had my first flight in my Navy flight training the week of the 75th Anniversary of Naval Aviation, just a couple days before my 25th birthday. (During the 100th Anniversary, the Commanding Officer of the Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola was a Hokie, and a fraternity brother. 😎👍🏻)

Also, my birthday will be on Cinco de Mayo next yr.
