I was taking his class

when he was reffing.

Always led off Monday morning with something related to the game he reffed that past weekend and then related it to his lecture. Amazing prof.

After four years (and a quarter!) of engineering studies, his exam was the last VT exam I ever took. So with exams from diffy-Q's to Thermo-GD-amics that dang near sidetracked me, the last questions I ever answered in school to get my degree included identifying places on a map of Virginia that I had known about all my life....walked out grinning ear to ear.
