just about every year through high school. Never did amount to anything.
To be blunt, when you grow up in the Cold War and the looming threat of a nuclear missile strike, the idea of a bomb in school wasn't something that really scared us. Any bomb you could hide in a school wouldn't be big enough to hurt anyone who wasn't in the room with it.
Never was much more than an excuse to go stand around outside for an hour. I don't recall any of the students taking it more seriously than just a fire drill. But we didn't grow up in era of bombs going off in schools being on the news regularly.
