I think he feels that there are too many personnel deficiencies to right the ship. So placing the blame on the players and promising to be harder on them isn't going to change the results. His hands may be tied due to injuries, transfers, and poor mix of talent. I think a running QB doesn't fix the situation. A bad offensive line doesn't allow you to do misdirection, screens, or laterals. I think they needed quickness and speed at the skill positions and pro style QB who could make quick passes. Next coach should run the spread offense.
