Still something of a cone of silence among a lot of the Allen family today


There are some very prominent members of the family who will either say very little about the topic or completely change the subject if it is ever brought up. Frank Beamer (Floyd Allen's great nephew) mentions it sometimes and acknowledges his family connection, but to the best of my knowledge he never really dwells on it or expands upon it. Seems that mainly he just doesn't want to talk about it.

Very similar to my wife's family, who were somewhat well known bootleggers in Radford back in the day.
