So he hired an offensive minded coach. When you get in the weeds and the head coach doesnt even work with the problem area in practice as has been reported he works with the D then we have a headship problem as much as a single function problem. I dont want to lose Justin Hamilton and I actually think he is head coach material but we as fans are today people not 2016 nor 2025 people. Too much is asked of fans in terms of money and time to ust write off a couple of years on a wing and a prayer/hope. There is a body of work here and it is so apparent that even a year ago the AD had to address it. His whole basis for keeping JF was to keep JH. I can understand that and I really want that to work to as JH seems like an old school guy who thinks he can make a career at VT just like his mentor. But there is the ugly side of the business and being a DC means you are mostly hitched to the HC. What would help is if JH would take a job somewhere else to detach from JF and leave with him in good graces to maybe snag him again. All of that is tail wagging the dog though.
