In the article, I wrote about VT being 59th in the nation in offensive efficiency. But then there were a lot of ranking where VT was in the 100s and many people wondered how that could happen.

The KenPom offensive efficiency rating is a rather simple stat. It is an efficiency rating (points per possession) adjusted for tempo (possessions per game). So if you have a high efficiency (VT is 67th in points per possession) and a slow tempo (VT is 273rd in possessions per game) then you will have a higher adjusted efficiency
