The best thing he could do if he lands another HC job...


...is take some PR lessons. I think Fuente is a "good guy", but man...he has done himself no favors by the way he interacts with the fan base. I don't know if he intentionally projects as stand-offish, or if he just inadvertently comes off that way, but regardless, when you struggle to field a consistently competitive team, you need your fanbase to want to be patient with you because you've endeared yourself to them. Unfortunately, Fuente just never really did that at VT. I'm not sure it would save his job in the end, but I think a lot of fans decided they were done with him a couple of seasons ago. After this season's results, he's really got no goodwill built up with anyone, it seems.
