the ones recruiting against Tech at that time, I wouldn't have felt the need to go after age or health. I would however have pointed out to every O player how anemic our offenses were and how recruit x would never have a chance to show what they could do or be featured in a strong offensive system. I would have emphasized how offense was little more than an afterthough - after defense and special teams.
I would have then used the opposite strategy with defensive players - see, the O doesn't really carry their weight. Do you want to be on the field all the time, increasing your number of snaps and wear and tear on your body? You're going to have to work twice as hard.
I wonder how much CFB's age and health were really used against us as there was other ammo at the time.
