Tech is still a damn good job

The national pundits are off the VT wagon. I would counter by saying, for example if you pick LSU you better win a natty or be in the playoffs immediately. Not remotely suggesting we are at their level but we gave Fuente 6 years. As an outside coach looking in, you have an extraordinarily winnable division which puts you in ACC champ game. You have an AD that is secure for almost a another decade. We are patient overall. No doubt if we win 8 every year we will want 10 and a New Years bowl. But that is anywhere. We know what is left here. I believe many of us are ok with a couple of mediocre seasons, we just want openess, fun, and general improvement as well as guys that play hard. Our immediate recruiting area is not exceptional but the VT name CAN still matter in 757, Richmond, DMV and getting to charlotte etc is an easy drive for family. You would have to embrace the community and have a personality but 4 million in Blacksburg is a pretty damn good life. We are improving or have improved facilities to certainly be competitive. The commitment is there again. If a young man loves the coaches and the parents love the location, coaches, atmosphere etc. I doubt that a B+ dorm is a reason they wouldn’t commit. Our guy needs to want to be here, and re establish the good name we once had. So VT is a good, stable, good life job with good resources, good academics, insane game day, winnable reasonably quickly, with expectations that are impassioned but not absurd. Now the hard part. Find the guy.
