1. Recruiting. I do not really care so much about track record as much as what is the overall plan for recruiting and is the head guy willing to put the energy into making the relationships.

2. Coordinators. What is the plan? Is the new coach bringing Corny 2.0 along? I would prefer that a significant portion of our revitalized investment go into bringing in the best coordinators we can.

3. Charisma. This helps with (1) as well but I am looking for a guy that can relate to the fanbase and energize our fundraising efforts.

4. Xs and Os. This is at the bottom of my list. Not that I necessarily view a strong Xs and Os coach as a negative, I just do not think it is a requirement.

Disclaimer: I think P5 experience is largely overblown. But, I do think experience in general is obviously needed. With that, there are usually more experienced candidates hanging around P5 programs. I do not think there is some secret P5 formula that a coach needs to learn from other P5 programs though.
