That was my first car

Mine was a GT, so instead of a tiny 1 bbl carb, it had a tiny 2-bbl carb...lol.

It left me stranded three times:

(1) The clutch cable snapped on a Friday night in the large parking lot @VT, as I was headed home on the weekend.

(2) The second was when the timing belt broke driving home from VT. Thankfully it had a non-interference engine, so I only had to replace the timing belt and keep rolling. It failed as I passed a small garage just before closing. The owner stayed open to fix my car. He had to call the parts store to stay open a little later so we could pick up the replacement belt. If I had left 15 minutes later, would have been stuck overnight...lol

(3) The third time happened when I was driving to class. The engine just stopped as if I had turned off the key. A nice guy stopped to troubleshoot, and found there was a lot of corrosion where the coil wire plugged into the coil. He scraped out enough corrosion to give me a decent connection and I was off and running. I replaced the coil after class that day.
