But the coaches really wanted to run something that would give us a chance to earn a first down in the series. Just running the straightforward read option wasn’t going to do it. What would you call?

I don’t have a problem with the call so much as putting in a less experienced quarterback. And the fault is really on him for not thinking ball security first.
