I think if we get turned down by our top choices

And we start looking at option 3 or 4, then JC becomes an option. Because honestly I would rather take a chance on a dedicated Hokie with 20 years of coaching experience compared with a not ideal candidate who is our fall back option.

If JC doesn’t work then we get a chance to pick from a new pool of candidates in a few years when we are not competing against LSU and USC. It may not be ideal, but long term it could be a safer option.

All that said, if we take a chance on a hot coordinator like Gattis then I’d be good with that.
