This may be the variant that essentially gets everyone immune to the virus either through infection or by scaring them into getting shots. Like Delta, most of the infected are young and unvaccinated. It has many of the mutations from the early variants against which the vaccines were tested.

Virus becoming more infectious and less deadly toward the end was what was predicted early on by experts.
