very well may work out in the future somewhere else. There is a lot of evidence that he was a good head coach. On the surface, he did a great job at Memphis by turning around a coach killer of a program and he kick started something here that was previously just mediocre. It ultimately just didn’t work. Corny didn’t develop QB’s well enough and Fuente probably trusted him to a fault. Recruiting to VT was harder than he thought it would be, especially once Mack Brown was hired. Seemed like he was finally figuring out recruiting to VT in the Mack Brown era but it was just too late. Not enough development to get some key wins that would have saved his job.
